A good but also incredibly overrated comic book
This is probably the best superhero comic, but that's because all the superhero stories not written by Alan Moore are uncannily turgid, superhumanly shallow, amazingly stupid or incredibly boring. Superheroes don't get hurt, don't die, they exist in their fictional alternative New Yorks, Metropolises and Gothams solely to be money making machines for the greedy corporations like Marvel or DC that churn out an issue after issue of their silly adventures. Watchmen were probably the first comic that treated these spandex clad wannabe humans different so yeah, A.Moore deserves some praise for that. But if you want Moore's best, read the superior From Hell (a real shame the artist was doggo) or Lost Girls.

Still extremely relevant to this day
This comic truly is a work of art that just cannot be explained easily. The art style, the character designs (and the characters themselves), the fact that it started the idea of dark gritty re-imaginings of superheroes, it is just so good.
